Belonging from the Start is a free, inclusive playgroup and caregiver education program for children ages 0–5 and their families. Made possible through funding from First 5 Sonoma County and presented by Common Ground Society in partnership with Sandy Loam, the program provides a welcoming, sensory-rich environment where all children, especially those with developmental delays, disabilities, medical complexities, or unique support needs, can learn, play, and belong.

Each session includes play-based experiences that support motor, language, cognitive, and social-emotional development while giving caregivers opportunities to connect with one another, learn from early childhood and early intervention professionals, and access community resources.

A bilingual coordinator provides Spanish interpretation and language support throughout the program to ensure meaningful participation for multilingual families.

Children do not need a diagnosis or referral to participate. Families of all children ages 0–5 are welcome.

What's needed at the program (types of shoes, water, food, etc.):
Closed-toe shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, water bottle, hat, and any personal items your child may need for comfort or care.
